What is a Super Typhoon?
Perhaps you have heard the term; Super Typhoon? But what is a Super Typhoon you ask? Obviously it is something really mean and nasty like a Super Tornado, Super Hurricane or Super Storm.
Indeed it is like that, just like that only Typhoons are Hurricanes, which are in the Pacific Ocean and those Hurricanes or rather Typhoons are generally much bigger in size.
Oh no you say, oh yes say meteorologists, as their bite is as bad if not worse than their bite.
On the Saffir-Simpson Scale a Category Five Hurricane is one with winds above 155-mph and that basically tops the scale, in that there is no such thing as a Category Six.
To give you an idea of the Magnitude, Hurricane Katrina came ashore at the Category II, Category III Threshold.
A Super Typhoon is one which is a Category Five or Category Five Plus? Plus what you ask? Well consider a Category II is five times that of a Category I and a Category V is 50 times that of a Category I Hurricane.
Are you starting to understand what a Super Typhoon is now? Good, because one is headed straight for Wake Island in the Pacific right now and most likely Weather Experts say it will submerge the Island in Storm Surge.
Meaning Everything that is not made of Concrete will be utterly destroyed.
Consider this in 2006.
