Compliance Training in Employment & Labor Law
- Virtually every company in the United States is required to provide ongoing training for its managers and general employees. Some of these requirements stemmed from Supreme Court decisions. These include training on sexual harassment, workplace discrimination, dealing with competitors, records management and ethical codes of conduct.
- In addition to general requirements, companies have to follow regulations that are applicable only to their specific industry. Training topics can include environmental requirements, workplace safety, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) issues and hundreds of federal laws related to business financial responsibilities.
- Along with penalties and fines, failing to comply with these rules and regulations could also result in problems with employees and the public. Examples of these problems include lawsuits, public censure and businesses losses.
