Correcting Poor Behaviors in Your Dog

4
Over the years I've found that one of the things new dog owners are always searching for is a cure for their dog's bad behavior.
When I say bad behavior that covers all sorts of things from barking, jumping, soiling in the house, you name it.
When the dog gets a little older then it seems that the behavior quite often turns to the fearful dog or the aggressive dog.
Curing all those bad behaviors is really simple but ideally it should start early sometime between 4 to 6 months of age.
The reason we start early is to teach good behavior before it learns the bad behavior.
So how do we do this? Simple, with obedience training because that is what develops that dog master relationship.
Obedience training teaches your dog what is right, what is wrong and that you're the alpha.
Stop and think about this for just a minute.
Have you ever had a family member or friend who had a nicely trained dog? You know the dog that really impresses you with his obedience and the fact that he was always under control.
Did that dog jump on people, counter surf, or act aggressive, no.
That's because he was an obedience trained dog that knew who the master was and what the master would allow.
So now the picture is getting clearer, it seems that a trained dog is a dog that doesn't exhibit bad behavior.
I've had many people tell me I don't care if my dog sits or stays or even walks on a leash well I just want him to quit barking, jumping on people and all those other bad behaviors he has.
I think you're beginning to get the picture that if the dog were trained to begin with all those bad behaviors would be gone.
So the next question is how do I get my dog trained and can I do it by myself? I guess you could if you knew what you are doing.
However wouldn't it be great to have the help of a professional who can guide you through the steps and make it easier for you and your dog? Now that you agree that obedience training is important, you need to decide how you're going to do the training.
Do you want group classes, in-home private lessons, or maybe send your dog away for a board and train program? These are all very viable methods of training your dog.
I'm going to make it real simple for you the absolute best way of getting your dog trained is for you to do the training in your home with private lessons.
Why? Simple in your home there's no distraction for the dog so he's able to learn quicker.
The trainer is able to help you with the things that are important for you and your family's lifestyle.
Plain and simple private training is much more effective.
Now that you're on your way to have your dog's behavior problems completely solved I hope you enjoy the training and your new well behaved dog.
