The idea being that you make enough money in a relatively short period, that you will have a number of options concerning what you want to do next.
By setting up and running a seed money business, you can protect yourself from failure.
Your risk is with "house money" generated from your seed money business, not your nest-egg retirement money.
Let's explore some examples of seed money ideas.
Most people have items around the house which they no longer use, or want, but are still use-able and sale-able.
Stuff just sitting around in junk-rooms, basements, or garages.
You contact the homeowner and offer, for a negotiated price, to clean out the room.
Anything you take away that is still usable, you sell.
The rest you take to the junk yard and sell for scrap.
You can hire some High School or College kids to help with the actual work, and include their pay in the price you ask.
Another inexpensive business opportunity is the "neighborhood service broker".
With this idea, you generate leads for service providers you have lined up.
As long as you can generate the lead for less than the business is willing to pay you for it, you are looking at some of the easiest money there is.
You call up service providers, asking if they would be interested in purchasing leads, and asking them how much they would pay.
You can actually call every service provider in your local area, and deal with the one which pays the most.
Sometimes they have different service areas, which allows you to multiply your efforts.
Either way, it is better to have more than one service provider available.
Make up a flier giving your name and number.
If any of the businesses you contacted offer free estimates include that information on the flier, since that is a good selling point for getting an appointment.
It is illegal in the USA to put these fliers in the mail-box without having mailed them.
Go door to door, and place them in the door handle or in some obvious location.
Simply generating a lead, and then selling it to the proper service provider, is an inexpensive business opportunity.
It can be done quickly, and easily.
It is simple to do, simple to understand, and it is repeatable.
A note to remember: You can let the service provider know the neighborhood of the appointment, but do not give out the name, address or contact info until you have been paid for the lead.
You can try this system with pool-cleaning services, landscaping and gardening services, house-painting services, gutter-cleaning or roofing services.
Any service which a home-owner is willing to pay for, is a legitimate service you can plug into this system.
The next step, is for you to take action.

You need something to offer, people who want what you are offering, a way to let people know you have what they want, and a way to deliver your offer.
