How to Plan a Football Banquet
- 1). Secure a banquet hall that will be an appropriate spot for your team's banquet. You might have done this on an annual basis, so getting the hall might involve one phone conversation with the proprietor of the hall to confirm the date. You might have to secure a new hall, though, and that will involve trips to halls and comparison shopping. Figure out which hall suits your team's needs, and sign the contract.
- 2). Invite all your players and significant others to the banquet. If this is a high school team, that might mean parents, siblings and girlfriends. If this is college age or older, it might include a spouse.
- 3). Plan a memorable catered meal. Football players are almost always big eaters. An All-American meal of roast beef, potatoes, vegetables along with soup, salad and dessert probably is appropriate for a football team. You don't want your players to leave hungry.
- 4). Give out certificates. Have the coach take to the microphone to present the team's highlight film and present certificates. The highlight film should come first, then the coach can step up and say something positive about each player's contribution.
- 5). Give the awards for the team's most valuable player, best offensive player, best defensive player and most improved player. After these awards are given, the coach should thank everyone for their contributions and close the celebration by talking about preparing for the following season
