How to Charge a Scooter If It Won't Charge
- 1). Charge the battery as you normally would. Plug the three-pin male plug lead into the three-pin female socket on the battery charging pack. Plug the A/C power cord into the wall socket. Do not interrupt the charge cycle, as this may damage the battery.
- 2). Check any disruption in power on the battery charger. Examine the two lights on the charger. The green indicator light shows the battery charging; the solid red light shows power to the charger. A dim or flashing red light indicates an interruption in power. Press the "Reset" button, located at either the rear of the frame or under the seat of your mobility scooter.
- 3). Test the voltage reading of the battery with a multimeter. Connect the multimeter to the battery and drive the scooter a short distance. The battery reading shouldn't fall below 11 volts. A low voltage reading may indicate a faulty battery that you need to replace.
- 4). Check the fuses in the battery pack and replace any that are blown. Open the main control box and unscrew the cap. Remove any blown fuses and replace them with a 2.5 amp fuse.
