Trends on Web Design in 2012
About a decade or more ago someone once defined the web as reading a magazine and going to your neighbor's house to ask him to come over and flip to the next page for you. That was how sluggish, hefty and tedious the WWW was.
But a great deal has changed on the net that you can scarcely identify it from just a couple years ago. Just as much as cars bring out a new model every four years with evolutionary changes, the net goes on a facelift every year.
Just before the year concludes, appealing trends on web designs come out. Half the year has already been consumed. Let's observe what the standouts are:
Touchscreen
2010 was considered the year of the tablet. Naturally web designs have been striving to create sites which are touch-friendly. With more and more versions of iPhone and iPad and almost every cell phone turning into Android-controlled, this industry has created an alternative entity concentrating on mobile site designs which have touch screen capability.
See how netbooks' prices are sliding further down. It just goes to show that it's going the way of the prehistoric and mobile phones is the new frontier.
Web Design Big and SmallAlso termed Responsive Web Design, this is simply web designs which are adjustable whether you put it on a wide screen, flat panel, full HD capacity 32 inch monitor or a palm-sized iPhone or a 7inch Samsung Galaxy Tab.
This is the reason why some sites are categorized into mobile and the standard full site. The mobile sites would be the scaled down versions of the full site to avoid overcrowding. But as Responsive Web Design is rising up the trend ladder, so will web designs be a little more highly evolved that easily converts from full screen to palm-sized.
WordPress
Forget about Tumblr (leave them to the tweens), WordPress is still king when it comes to content management system or CMS. Still the favorite choice of bloggers and as a website, WordPress recently come out with its 3.0 version with more modern designs and fresh new capabilities like custom post and unique article images.Downloaded sixty five million times since it was released last December, WordPress has made itself simpler to navigate, understand and is still the favorite child of reinvention.
Circles
For some peculiar, psychological reason, the circle shape has an eye-catching draw as a web design. Tests were done on which shape has the most eye-catching power and this spherical shape won it hands down. For this reason, the majority of logos are circle-centric. This 2012, particularly, it's been increasing swift popularity in the web design industry.
Magazines Going Online
Not that we're not feeling rather sentimental to view the slow demise of print, but trees are happy and it's much more stream-lined. No more large stacks we don't know what to do with.
Magazines are reinventing themselves too by moving to the online camp. It's like shifting office and ultimately adapting the newest technology that has been disregarded on account of budget constrained. It's a brand new era for media. These are exciting times for this industry as a great deal are still untouched terrain. Something new is usually coming up and it's just amazing to look at them pass by like a parade.
