Using Hydrogen Peroxide

• Hydrogen peroxide is a bleaching agent. It has many uses from hair coloring products to teeth whitening products. Peroxide is a powerful bleaching agent in high doses, but for personal use the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) only permits 3-percent concentrations. To use hydrogen peroxide as a teeth whitener, pour some in a cup, dip your toothbrush in and brush the teeth. If your teeth or gums are too sensitive, add a little water. Using Mild Abrasives

• Two mild abrasives that can clean the surface of the teeth are salt and baking soda. You can use either salt or baking soda or both. The tiny granules in these substances can remove stains. The best way to use the salt and baking soda is to add water to make a paste. Once you have created the paste, use your toothbrush and brush your teeth as you usually do. Another option is to use hydrogen peroxide with the baking soda. This combination is often suggested by dentists as a way to clean the teeth.
  
  

Using Mild Acids

• There are a few fruits that are recommended for whitening the teeth. Strawberries are useful for removing stains. You can cut a strawberry and then rub it on your teeth to remove stains. Another option is to mash a few fresh strawberries in a bowl and make a paste. Brush this on the teeth. Lemon juice is also good because it is known to have a mild bleaching effect. You can peel a fresh lemon and then rub the rind over the teeth. Oranges can also be used in this way. You can also brush lemon juice on the teeth. Both lemons and oranges contain citric acid. This mild acid can remove the stains to make teeth look whiter.
