How to Save Your Own Corn Seeds to Grow
- 1). Allow the corn to stay on the stalk for two weeks past the stage where they are ripe for eating.
- 2). Cut the stalks down to the ground level and stand them up or lean them against something. Let the stalks stand like this for three weeks.
- 3). Husk the corn and then set them out to dry in a warm, dry and well-ventilated area.
- 4). Check the cobs after a couple more weeks. If the kernels are hard and come off the cob easily, they are ready to harvest.
- 5). Store the kernels of corn in a paper bag in a dark, cool and dry place until you are ready to plant them.
