Why You Should Plan Your Own Funeral and Make All of the Arrangements Ahead of Time

1
Most people do not like to think about dying but unfortunately, it is something that will happen to everyone and it is something that many people do not plan for.
To avoid placing this emotional and financial burden on your family you should consider planning some details surrounding your death such as having your will updated or written, planning what type of funeral or memorial you would prefer as well as deciding how you would like your body to be laid to rest.
Some people may wish to be cremated and their ashes sprinkled a specific way while others may hire a cemetery broker who will sell cemetery property to them prior to their passing.
Losing a loved one after a long illness or to a tragic accident are both difficult but often times, the stress of deciding what to do following the death and having to pay for it make that grief even more difficult.
The more things you can have done in advance the easier it will be for your loved ones following your death whether it is expected or not.
Many people do not realize how expensive things surrounding a funeral are from the services, the casket and other details.
The more of these things that you can pay for ahead, the less financial burden will be on your family members during their time of grief.
Some families have large family plots that have been in their family for generations but not everyone may want to be buried in a cemetery that they may have no connection to.
Your parents may have chosen to be buried in their hometown cemetery along with your grandparents located in Oregon.
They may have moved away from Oregon, though when you were a baby and you were raised in Florida and have not feeling of a connection to the plot in Oregon but have inherited a family plot for yourself.
In this instance you may want to locate a cemetery broker to sell your plot for you.
This is becoming more common today as families are finding themselves spread all across the country.
If you have very strong feeling of wanting to have your ashes sprinkled over your favorite place in Italy then you should have those wishes written down and notarized ahead of time.
You may also check with a crematorium to see about prepaying for that service as well as discussing with the person most likely that will have to make the trip to scatter your ashes in advance.
Perhaps you are very religious and want to have a full Catholic mass as part of your funeral.
This too, should be stated in your will as your wish and you should make all of the arrangements ahead of time with a funeral home to a cemetery plot purchased ahead of time.
Having all of these arrangements done ahead of time takes an enormous amount of pressure off of your family members when you do finally pass away and it will give you peace of mind too.
