Stop Fear
What we Think About Helps to Stop Fear.
Most of us as children would have been frightened by spooky stories, scary shadows on the wall, creaking houses at night and the boogie man in the cupboard or under the bed. Those fears we felt were real to us at the time. Any accompanying physical symptoms we felt were also real. However as we matured we realised that these childhood fears had no substance and were all figments of a developing and over active imagination.
The power within our subconscious mind is very strong and it enables us to picture a variety of imagined terrible outcomes, but then again this power also allows us to picture positive outcomes. This ability offers a crucial and effective pathway to master our fears by imagining optimistic and wonderful outcomes. You have the power to curb the debilitating habit of fear. Fear really only exists in the mind.
View Fear as Exitement
The fear we may feel about let's say a roller coaster ride can also be interpreted as excitement. Change the thought of fear in your mind to being one of excitement, because the way we talk to ourselves is all-important as to how we view the circumstances. We talk to ourselves many times a day so make sure that what goes on in our minds stays positive. Be aware and correct the language you use to talk to yourself. We are bombarded daily with negative news stories so be careful to look after your mind by avoiding watching for example scenes of catastrophe or listening to reports of accidents and tragedies.
We all go Through Fear and Worry
For all of us, at some time during our lives we will have experienced fear and worry to varying degrees. The experience of fear and worry effects everyone slightly differently and the amount of time we put our focus on a certain issue rather than searching for solutions, can determine whether or not fears take a hold and control us. A typical childhood fear for many may have been concern over our end of year exam results. We may now worry about meeting deadlines. Fears may develop about our fate or possible future misfortunes for our loved ones. People can develop phobias such as fear of flying or of heights. Fears can deprive us of energy and our zest for life.
Be mindful of your own thoughts and curtail those negative thoughts when they surface. Learn how to speak to yourself positively to help stop fear. Doing something as simple as this can be a great first step. Most of what we fear in life will never eventuate.
Having a balanced life is vital and part of this means taking time out to enjoy your own leisure pursuits.
