Is a Eulogy Speech Important?

1
We all know that writing a speech is difficult enough but writing a eulogy speech, well this is where things really get difficult.
We are trying to build a picture of a loved one who has left us.
Of course we will include stories of events, wonderful memories and even some jokes and quotes.
The hard part is you are trying to do this while going through the mourning process.
So think of it as helping you and many others to start healing and dealing with tragic set of circumstances.
1.
I have had to write a eulogy speech on more than one occasion and I do have a few tricks as I have helped others as well.
The first trick is to not dwell on it but rather just get it going.
Just write things about the person.
Write about their life, job, friends and memories.
You can clean things up after.
2.
You want to use good taste in your eulogy speech as you are setting the theme.
You are going to want to use some stories, memories and maybe even a poem or two.
It really doesn't hurt to throw a little tasteful humour in the mix as well.
3.
How did the deceased reflect upon others? In your eulogy speech this is how you want to reflect the deceased.
It helps to get the audience involved by getting them to smile, cry and even laugh once in a while.
You are not only helping them pay their respects, you are also helping them begin the healing process.
4.
When asked to prepare a eulogy speech don't put it off until the last second.
You want to get other people's opinions; you need to find great stories and memories.
Also remember you are helping every mourner remember the deceased and you are helping them heal so you do want to be prepared.
5.
I know it may be tough but at the end of the day practicing your eulogy speech will be well worth it.
I'm not saying to memorize it because things are tough enough to throw that into the mix as well.
Just remember some of the important points and practice in front of some other members of your family.
So all in all just remember that this is a eulogy speech and no one will look down at you know matter how it turns out.
You may break down and that's OK.
Just take a deep breath and keep on going.
Everyone will absolutely understand what you are going through.
