How to Clean a Beretta 92Fs Pistol
- 1). Put CLP on the cleaning brush. Insert the cleaning brush from the barrel into the chamber of the firearm and scrub back and forth, coating the inside of the firearm with the cleaning oil generously.
- 2). Next, use the cleaning brush to shove a piece of cleaning cloth into the barrel to retrieve the excess oil. This will also help the barrel to dry. Repeat this process until the cloth comes out clean and dry. You may need to use more than one cleaning patch to ensure that the barrel is properly cleaned out and dry.
- 3). Use a cleaning patch or an old T-shirt that has CPL on it to clean the locking block. Wipe it clean. Then use a clean oiled cloth to go over the outside of the barrel and while using the cleaning brush, shove the oiled cloth back inside the barrel to coat it with oil.
- 1). Using an old T-shirt or cleaning cloth soaked in CLP, wipe the slide area, breech face, extractor, slide rails and the under breech. Once these areas are well coated with cleaner, take a dry cloth and wipe clean.
- 2). Go back over the slide with a lightly oiled cloth. Add just a little oil to the firing pin block and safety.
- 3). Using your finger, activate the parts to ensure that there is free movement.
- 1). The recoiling spring and spring guide do not need to be cleaned as regularly as the rest of the firearm. However they still need to be oiled. After a long period of time the recoiling spring and spring guide should be cleaned or if the firearm has been used excessively over a short period of time.
- 2). For regular maintenance, lightly add oil to help to ensure proper use to the recoiling spring and spring guide.
- 3). If the recoiling spring needs to be cleaned, use the cleaning brush and CPL, wipe them clean with a cleaning cloth and add a light coating of gun oil.
- 1). With a cleaning cloth or an old T-shirt soaked in CLP, wipe the frame of the gun thoroughly, focusing on the areas where there is gun residue and other dirt.
- 2). Use the cleaning brush to get all corners and creases cleaned properly. Wipe the firearm clean with a clean cloth. Then lightly go over the frame with a lightly oiled cloth, focusing on all parts of the frame that move or disassemble.
- 3). Clean all magazines with the CLP and then wipe them clean. Lightly go over the magazines with a lightly oiled rag.
