Boston Greenfest – An Eco-Friendly Yet Entertaining Event
An event filled with exciting learning experiences, Boston GreenFest brings together neighborhoods from all across Greater Boston to figure out solutions including the changes that need to be made to make the city a healthy, sustainable place to live. Boston GreenFest 2011 is set to take place from 18th to 20th of August at Boston City Hall Plaza. Promising something for both young and old, this three-day event will showcase healthy and earth-friendly products along with free live entertainment on multiple stages such as EcoFashion, TimeTunnel, GreenFilmFest and more. With over 220 exhibitors participating, this year's event is expected to receive at least 100,000 visitors. .
The event will start with a free concert scheduled to be held in the evening, spearheaded by a drum and dance ceremony of Native-Americans. The concert however will feature acts such as Zili Misik and Mike Casey Jazz Sextet in addition to national R&B favorites. .
The diversity and variety of the participating artists is quite incredible. Among the performers will be ballet dancers, belly dancers, folk dancers and singers, Cape Verdean, Brazilian, Gypsy and Latin entertainers. .
The second day of the event promises a blend of local and national acts, an EcoSalsa Fashion Show and folklorico and flamenco dancing. Mamadou from Senegal as well as other Haitian and African performers will be part of the event's last day's entertainment. .
