Life in business can get so busy, especially when you are a SUPER mum trying to wear so many different hats - caretaker, cook, taxi driver, bookkeeper, partner, friend, maid, volunteer, as well as CEO, blogger, marketing director, receptionist (just to name a few), that life just passes you by as you are continually chasing your tail trying to raise a family as well as a business.
Sometimes you just feel like you are going backwards and just can't do it ALL! - Run a household - Make money - Stay fit & healthy - Spend quality time with your children - Enjoy your relationship with your partner - Stay sane Life and Time Management There are so many tips out there about managing time and because I know you are so busy I have condensed them down to 7.
I believe these 7 tips are truly important in order for you to live a successful, happy, fulfilled life.
But first let me explain something to you.
Unfortunately, neither you nor I are capable of managing time.
We all get just 24 hours in a day.
There is no one who can create more time or gets more time, no matter where they live or what they do.
So, these 7 tips are more about how you can manage yourself, your family, your finances, your health, your relationships, and your entire life, and what you do with the time that you have, so that you have more time to do the things that you really love.
1.
Menu Plans & Shopping Lists Meal planning is a very obvious time saver that takes a small amount of time to save a large amount of time.
By placing a meal plan / shopping list inside your pantry or on your fridge you can add ideas and suggestions to it throughout the week.
Shopping lists are also compulsory time savers.
2.
Prioritize Ruthlessly All your activities can be broken down into categories in order of importance.
Prioritizing skills are your ability to see what tasks are more important at each moment and give those tasks more of your attention, energy, and time.
Focusing on what is REALLY important at the expense of lower value activities will create the results you desire.
3.
Learn To Delegate And / Or Outsource I know what you're thinking.
The word "delegation" can be frightening sometimes.
No-one does anything quite as good as you do.
That's right you are SUPER mum, you can do it all! It is time to admit that you are NOT an expert in everything.
Your expertise is specific and it cannot be spread everywhere.
4.
Use Time (Life) Management Tools If you don't know what you should be doing, how can you manage your time to do it? The first step to physically managing your time is to know where it's going now and planning how you're going to spend your time in the future.
It doesn't really matter what method you use as long as you use something and it is time efficient.
5.
Be Organized & Clear Clutter The more organized you and your household are, and the less clutter you have, the more extra time you'll find and the less stressed you'll be.
Your systems need to be organized to the point that you can quickly lay your hands on what you need; saving you many valuable hours in the future.
Another great way to find more time is to clean up your working area on a regular basis, so that there is no clutter.
6.
Routines While crises will arise from time to time in your busy life, you'll be much more productive if you can follow routines most of the time.
Just like brushing your teeth, having a shower or doing the food shopping, you should have family and work-related routines in place.
The more you make daily chores and activities routine, the less you have to make a choice about whether you're going to do it or not.
7.
Improve YOUR Attitude Improve YOUR Life I have left this tip until last as it is by far the MOST IMPORTANT.
So if you are one of the very few people who read something in its entirety then I would like to congratulate you and remind you that by taking action you will succeed.
Remember, the focus of life and time management is actually changing your behaviors, not changing time.
It is also about improving your attitude and doing what it takes to succeed.
Attitude is a choice.
You may be totally overwhelmed or faced with many problems and obstacles, many or most over which you have no control.
However, there is one thing that you have complete and absolute control of and that is YOUR attitude.
Your attitude is your thoughts, feelings and actions all combined.
Your conscious mind controls your feelings and ultimately dictates whether they are positive or negative by your choice of thoughts, then you display those choices through your actions and behaviors.
Positive results are always the effect of a positive attitude.
Attitude and results are inseparable.
The results that you achieve in life are nothing more than an expression of your thoughts, feelings and actions.
Take a close look at your life and evaluate the results that you are achieving in different areas - health, finances, relationships.
See if you are able to relate your attitude to your results.
You have the power to choose an abundant life, no matter your circumstances.
I believe in your dreams.
To health, happiness and living the life of YOUR dreams.
