Fishbowl

• A quick and easy option for your centerpieces is to fill a fishbowl with gravel to match your wedding colors. Fill the bowls with water and add a fish and you have an instant centerpiece that will delight younger guests. Another option with the fish bowl is to use floating candles instead of, or in addition to, the fish. Placing a mirror under the bowl will reflect the candle light and make the piece look a little bigger. If using fish or candles is not an option, fill the container with the colored gravel and fresh flowers or fruit.
  
  

Balloons

• A centerpiece is traditionally lower to the table to allow guests to see and talk to each other. Create a reverse effect by using small mesh bags of colored gravel to weigh down a balloon canopy over each table. The gravel will ensure that none of the balloons escape from the table and adds a splash of color that matches your theme. Another alternative to the bags of gravel is to glue the string of the balloon to one piece of gravel and put that piece in the bottom of a champagne glass. Then, add more gravel over the piece to keep it in place. Arrange groups of these on the table, in varying heights, to add a little sparkle to the centerpiece.

• Since flowers are the most popular ingredient used for centerpieces, give your guests something to talk about by adding unique items to vases held in place by the colored gravel. These items can be as uncluttered as tall pillar candles held in place with the grave,l to different things like peacock feathers or palm fronds. The vases full of stones can also be used to hold pens for guests to offer well-wishes to the bride and groom.
  
  

Bowls

• Create a remarkably easy and functional centerpiece with plates and bowls of different sizes, mirrors, colored stones and candles. Pour the stones into the bowl to hold the candles and place on the mirror. Sprinkle more gravel around the bowl or plate on the mirror. Another idea is to use the mirrors, candles and gravel. Place the candles on the mirror and put a few pieces of the gravel around them. There is no need to use a large amount of the colored gravel, just a few pieces will add interest and color to your centerpiece.
