Homemade hydropnic setups

• 1). Identify a place in your home where you'd like your hydroponic garden to stand. Because the plants will acclimate themselves to the area as they grow, it's important that the garden be in a spot where it can remain undisturbed and will not need to be moved for some time. These requirements—how much sun, temperature, etc.—depend on the kind of plants you're growing.
  
  
• 2). Put the support frame in the place you've designated for your garden. The frame can be anything from a store-bought frame to a table to a pair of chairs. Place the pipe across the frame.
  
  
• 3). Cut holes for your plants into the pipe using a hole saw. Use the cup diameter as a guide since the holes will need to be a little smaller than the widest point of the cups. Because the plants will be going into these holes later, give them ample space of 6 inches or more between each hole.
  
  
• 4). Screw the end caps onto each end of the pipe. Drill a small hole into the top and bottom of the pipe on one end to allow for water drainage. Put one piece of tubing into each hole long enough to reach under the frame.
  
  
• 5). Place the reservoir under the frame so it is out of the way. Attach the tubing from the top hole to the pump and put the pump into the reservoir.
  
  
• 6). Pierce the cups with holes along their bottom edges. Fill each cup with hydroponic medium and plant your seeds or cuttings. Position each cup into one of the holes along the pipe.
  
  
• 7). Place the other tube above or into the reservoir to allow for drainage and water circulation. Fill the reservoir, plug in the pump and turn on the pump. The PVC pipe will fill with water, flooding the plants before draining back into the reservoir.
