How to Make a "Rapunzel" Bedroom
- 1). Empty the room of furniture and other items. You will need the space for painting and decorating. Remove the window treatments, including blinds, if there are any present. Wash the walls in preparation for paint.
- 2). Sketch out each wall individually with a pencil. Have a different part of the story on each wall. For instance, paint castle bricks around the window so it looks like part of the room is part of a castle.
- 3). Paint the walls a neutral color that works with the scenes on the walls, and let the paint dry. Then, use chalk to outline the scenes and paint to fill in the outlines. Add details, such as flowers of all sizes and plants. Add woodland creatures, such as deer, owls and field mice. Use glow-in-the-dark paint to add stars to the ceiling and the top of the walls.
- 4). Move the furniture and other items back into the room. Dress the bed with Rapunzel-themed bedding, or cover the bed with a sateen cover and velvet pillows to make it feel regal. Hang sparkle sheers over the window, which will let the painted bricks show through. Or, use blinds for privacy.
- 5). Hang a Rapunzel costume, complete with a wig, in a play area of the room. Keep it low enough so your daughter can easily reach it when she wants to play dress-up. This costume is available in many shops around Halloween.
