And That"s My Take - (Thank Goodness I Don"t Have to Get Naked Anymore)

2
Airline travel in Canada is becoming less chic, fun, convenient, (insert your own description here) every day it seems, and that is a fact regardless of where you are flying from or to in Canada.
If the surly staff of the nation's dominant airline isn't enough to dissuade you from flying, then their abusive baggage handling might, or maybe the misleading fares advertised, or perhaps the chaotic security personnel making you practically strip in front of your fellow passengers should take the cake.
But, thank goodness I won't have to get naked anymore in front of my fellow passengers anymore (and no doubt, my fellow passengers are thanking their lucky stars too), for the federal government has recently announced the installation of full body scanners at a number of Canadian airports.
And that means a full day porn show for airport security personnel, and a huge invasion of privacy for air travelers.
These fancy machines cost taxpayers a quarter million bucks each and are capable of taking full body scans of you right down to your skin.
They reveal your breast size, penis size, and all mannerisms of your body that many are afraid to reveal even to their doctor (if they even have one in this country, but that's for another article).
For airport security personnel, it amounts to the largest uncasted porn show in the world, and who is to know what happens with our images? Nobody is saying.
Undoubtedly, images will be stored on some computer somewhere, subject to abuse, and only then will there be a collective cry for freedoms lost.
Initially the scanners will be deployed in 11 airports throughout Canada, with more on the way as soon as the manufacturer can stop wringing their hands from such a lucrative deal and produce more.
And for those who think these are for just international flights, think again.
Soon, even the smallest of airports will be collecting this porn.
And while we are on the subject of smaller airports, for the love of lug nuts, why do they employ identical security tactics as the major international ones? If I was someone wanting to wreak havoc on the transportation infrastructure of this nation, or make any sort of political statement, would I choose a 38 seat Dash 8 twin prop, or a 300 seat jet? I am flying from butthole airport number one to butthole airport number two.
There is no statement to be made in causing news from either of these lovely places.
Even in the 1970's when aircraft were being hijacked all over the world, the only public security measure put in place was a warning about talking about bombs.
Even joking about bombs would get you a private conversation in a back room at an airport.
Yes, it is a new world out there.
And yes, maybe we need to employ some added measures to provide a false sense of security to the masses.
But, full body scans, of which the technology will only improve to further invade our privacy, is extreme.
And that's my take...
