My Frigidaire FRS24MWG Is Not Cooling Properly
- The condenser coils on the Frigidaire refrigerator are located inside the toe grille on the front of the unit. If the condenser coils, which look like a set of black wires and tubes, get too dirty, the ability of the appliance to cool properly will be affected. Remove the toe grille by pulling it toward you and use a vacuum cleaner to clean the back of the grill and the condenser coils, using the vacuum brush attachment. Line up the tabs on the toe grill with the holes on the refrigerator and push it back into place.
- Warm air enters the refrigerator every time the doors are opened. If this happens too frequently, the internal temperature will rise. Open doors only as needed and make sure the doors are shutting firmly with a good seal. If necessary, clean the gaskets on the doors. This can be done with a clean, damp cloth.
- The refrigerator may be set too high. The recommended temperature for the refrigerator compartment is around 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn the control dial to a lower temperature set point and keep the doors shut as much as possible for at least 24 hours while the temperature alters.
- If these efforts fail, contact an appliance technician. If the defrost thermostat, heater or timer on the refrigerator requires repair or replacement, all other efforts to cool the refrigerator will fail. Call Frigidaire for a recommended repair center near you.
