How to Upload With Dreamweaver MX

1
    • 1). Open Dreamweaver MX and open the "Site -> New Site" dialog box.

    • 2). Navigate to the "Advanced" tab and select "Local Info" from the left side of the dialog box. Input a descriptive name for the Web site and use the Browse buttons to specify the root folder for Web pages and image files. Type the domain into the address box in this format: http://www.mywebsite.com.

    • 3). Select "Remote Info" from the left side of the dialog box and choose "FTP" as the access type. Enter the name of your Web domain in the "FTP Host" field without the "http://www." prefix. Type your username and password into the respective fields under "Login". Click "Test" to confirm that Dreamweaver can connect to the remote server. Click "OK" to save changes and exit the dialog box.

    • 4). Select "Window -> Files" from the menu bar and select the "Connect to Remote Host" button from the "Files" category at the right of the pane. Under "Local View", select the file or files to upload. Right-click the file name and select "Put". Confirm the operation and wait for Dreamweaver to finish uploading the files. This process can take several minutes, depending on the number of files and their sizes. A status bar remains in the window until the upload process is complete.
