Ask tour operators, agents and accommodations if they have any special offers for honeymooners or couples.
You might find you can get some little extras that are not available to normal guests.

Research what activities will be available and what you would like to see and do on your honeymoon.
Know what you want and use it to negotiate discounts or bundled offers.

Think about what you can do just as you and your partner can do together.
You don't have to come up with something fancy, you are on a honeymoon after all, everything will feel fancy.

If you are visiting a new country don't block out the local culture, try the food, see the arts and get a feel for the country.
Don't feel like you have to take a traditional honeymoon staying in your room drinking champagne and eating chocolate or lounging on the beach or poolside.
Do it but don't think you'll have a memorable honeymoon if it is all you do.
