Keane Night Train Album Review
When I heard that indie sensation Keane were going to delve into the world of rap music my first thought was "What?" and my second thought was "why?" I admit I was sceptical of listening to the music never mind purchasing it, however being a fan of Keane I decided I would get the Album anyway.
After listening to the album I have to admit I was surprised.
Not being a fan of rap music had possibly made my mind up that I wasn't going to like this album even before I listened to it, however after listening to the album once I was pleasantly surprised and I had to listen to it again in order to give it a fair review.
The 2nd time around the album was just as good if not better.
Night Train has merged some catchy beats with some clever rap lyrics to great effect.
Having said all of the above Keane fans may still choose to hate this album, this is because in my opinion it isn't anything like the classic "Hopes and Fears" album.
This is a new era and maybe Keane wanted to try out a new sound.
Overall I enjoyed this album more than I thought I would.
Songs like "Your Love", "Stop for a Minute" and "My Shadow" are probably my favourite on the album.
I applaud Keane for trying something different to fight the risk of them becoming a stale band that plays the same sounds over and over.
Whether this new sound works for them will be another question and only time will tell.
