One of the cheapest and most effective ways to promote good health and protect oneself against cancer is to eat healthy foods. After some intense research, interacting with some people who have cancer and speaking with medical experts, I thought it wise to share with you these healthy living and cancer fighting foods. They have the ability to stave, cut off cancer and can also inhibit cancer cell growths and reduce tumor. Sit up as we discuss some of these great foods.
• Tomatoes: Lycopene, the anti-cancer compound in tomatoes have been shown by studies to be especially potent in combating cancer. This compound appears to be easily absorbed if fresh tomatoes are eaten forms like juice and sauce. Lycopene protects against breast, pancreatic, prostrate lung and stomach cancer. Tomato has cancer fighting potentials.

•Fruits: Lemon, orange, grapefruits and other members of the citrus family contains monoterpenes, which helps prevent cancer by flushing carcinogenic materials out of the body. Citrus Fruits slow down the increase of cancerous cells because they contain beta carotene, folic acid and vitamin C.
•Legumes: They contain active phytochemicals that protects the body's cells against situations that may lead to cancer. Legumes slow down tumor growth and prevent tumors from releasing substances that may damage surrounding cells. Beans, lentils and peas are good for your health and they have the ability to fight cancer cells.

•Green tea: It is particularly effective for its anti-cancer catechins, a potent antioxidant that has the ability to slow or prevent the development of cancer in the breast, colon, liver and prostrate. Like some plant based foods, green tea contains flavonoids, which are known for their antioxidant effects. Kaempferol is a flavonoid that has protective effect against cancer. Green tea is very rich in flavonoids.

Vitamin D curbs the growth of cancer; a good intake of this vitamin can reduce cancer risk in the body. Good quantity of this life-enriching vitamin can be found in seafood's such as: shrimps, snails, salmon and cod. Egg is another good source of vitamin D.

•Cruciferous vegetables: Cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and kale contain good amount of anti-cancer substances like isothiocyanates. Cruciferous vegetables produce cancer killing effect in the body.

•Chilies: Chili peppers especially jalapenos contain a chemical called capsaicin, which may neutralize certain cancer-causing substances and help prevent some types of cancers.

•Foliates: They contain carotenoids which help protect the body against diseases. Dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach and lettuce contain foliates and are rich in fiber.
