• With 256MB of internal memory, the Backflip is limited in its data storage performance, which makes its built-in microSD card slot a valuable commodity. The phone's card slot supports up to 32GB of expanded memory, which means you can use microSD cards, which offer up to 2GB of memory, and microSDHC cards, which range from 2GB to 32GB of memory. With added memory, you can add large-scale files, such as photos and applications, which will enhance the phone's performance as a multimedia device.
  
  

Camera

• The Backflip is able to perform as a photographic device with its 5-megapixel camera, which captures pictures at up to 2,560-by-1,920 pixels of resolution and is able to record low-quality video at 320-by-240 pixels. Features such as auto focus, digital zoom, white balance controls and geotagging give the Backflip added photographic performance capabilities. Geotagging is a process that embeds map and GPS coordinate data into each image captured by the phone. Battery

• A standard lithium-ion battery provides the Backflip with up to 5.8 hours of talk time and up to 315 hours, or 13.1 days, of standby time. Battery performance can be influenced by a variety of variances, such as weather conditions, network traffic and the phone's settings. Similar devices on the market at the time of publication average seven hours of talk time and 441 hours, or 18.4 days, of standby time. These times are obtained in ideal laboratory settings and not in real-life situations, which may not accurately indicate the battery performance the Backflip will produce for you.
  
  

Internal Features And GPS

• Built on the Android v1.5 Cupcake operating system, the Backflip uses a 528 MHz ARM 11 processor, an Adreno 130 graphics processing unit and a Qualcomm MSM7201A chipset for its computing performance. In the United States, the phone's operating system can be upgraded to the Android 2.1 OS. The phone accesses the Internet using an HTML browser and the 2G and 3G wireless networks using GSM and HSDPA technology. An assisted-GPS application, which uses satellite and cellular tower signals, enables the phone to perform as a navigational device. In partnership with the A-GPS, the phone's location-based services feature provides contact information for nearby commercial and emergency services, such as hospitals, fire stations, hotels and restaurants.
