How to Upgrade the Memory in a Nexus One Phone
- 1). Purchase a microSD memory card with a larger storage capacity. Google provides a 4GB microSD card with each of its Nexus One devices. The smartphone supports high-capacity microSD cards up to 32GB in size. Visit an electronics store, digital camera store or a retail store and purchase a microSD card with more than 4GB of storage space.
- 2). Turn off your Nexus One device by pressing the power button at the top of the phone. Remove the phone's back cover by pressing down directly below the camera lens and pushing upwards. Remove the battery from the phone by slipping your finger under the battery's tab in the top left corner and lifting it out.
- 3). Locate the microSD slot, which is situated above the battery cavity, and to the right of the SIM card holder. Remove the 4GB microSD card by pressing it toward the bottom of the phone. The card will then pop out of its slot. Pull the microSD card the rest of the way out.
- 4). Insert the larger capacity microSD card into the empty slot by aligning it and then sliding it into its slot. Replace both the battery and its cover and press the power button.
