How to Make a T-Shirt for Cheap
- 1). Open a new file in Adobe Photoshop by clicking "File" at the top of the screen and then clicking "New." A window will appear requesting the dimensions of your new image. Size the image to be 2000 pixels high by 2000 pixels wide, using a 300 DPI or dots per inch resolution.
- 2). Double click on the colored box inside the vertical tool box on the right side of the screen. A window will appear showing a color scale. Click anywhere on the color scale to select your color. Click on the "Paint Bucket" tool inside the tool box. Click anywhere on your image to fill your background with your selected color.
- 3). Click on the capital "T" located in the tool box. Holding down the mouse, drag the perforated box anywhere that you wish to place text on your image. Release the mouse button to confirm your selection. Click inside the box to begin writing. You can select a different font and font color at the top of the screen.
- 4). Save your image as a .jpg file on your computer. Name your file something that resembles your design. For example, if your design involves a dog, you could name your file "dogshirt.jpg."
- 5). Upload your file to the CafePress website (See Resources below.)On the website, you will need to register for an account. You can register for a free account that will hold up to 50 different designs. Once your registration is complete, go into the link that says "My Shops." Inside that page, click on "Manage Shops and Products." Upload your design using the CafePress image loader. After your image is loaded you can select on which items you would like your design to be, including many different types of T-shirts and sweatshirts.
