Let's be a little fair in this judgment.
Corporations exist for one sole reason - PROFIT.
Creating jobs is a by-product of the corporate function, not the purpose of its being.
We can't blame a frog for being a frog and hopping, anymore than we can blame a corporation to be focused on profits.
I guess in a 'perfect' world, corporations would be more sensitive to public needs but that is not why they exsist.
Few have managed to use public interest and welfare to achieve the goals of the corporation.
They have come to understand that working people buy products and in turn generate corporate profits.
Well structured businesses like Walmart provides many jobs at the lower income level.

provides much fewer jobs but at a higher income level.
Both corporations benefit the public.
Both are profitable.
But could they do more? YES.
One could sell more items made domestically, the other could continue with more small business start-up programs and work at home businesses as they currently provide.
One provides jobs to obtain corporate goals.
The other creates new businesses so as to have more buyers capable of purchasing there services and products.
Corporations are not evil if we simply look at them as what they are.
