How to Replace a Hard Drive on a Dell Mini
- 1). Turn off your Dell Inspiron Mini. Remove the power adapter if it is currently plugged in. Pull the battery out of the netbook.
- 2). Turn the Dell Inspiron Mini upside down. Remove the three screws below the battery bay.
- 3). Turn the netbook over and slide the flat-head screwdriver between the upper part of the keyboard and your computer. Carefully lever the keyboard out of the case. Flip the keyboard upside down to get it out of the way.
- 4). Remove the hard drive bay screw. The hard drive bay is the bay on the left side of the Mini. Remove the bay and hard drive from the netbook.
- 5). Unscrew the hard drive from the bay. Remove the hard drive and slide the replacement drive into it, if you are swapping drives. Screw the hard drive into the bay and place it back into the computer, securing it with the drive bay screw.
