How to Wear a Dashiki Shirt
- 1). Pick a dashiki which fits you properly. The dashiki needs to be loose, not tight-fitting. It should cover your torso neatly and hang without drowning you.
- 2). Press the dashiki with an iron. Reverse it, and press it from the back to avoid getting any threads or patterns caught in the iron. Remove all the creases.
- 3). Slip the dashiki over the top of your head. Make sure you have put it on the right way. Check that the label around the neck is at the back, or note where there is dip in the front of the dashiki. Often the shirts have 'V' necks, or expose the area just at the front of the chest where a necklace is worn.
- 4). Stand in front of the mirror. Look at the shape and colors of the dashiki shirt. Pull around the bottom edge of the shirt so it is straightened out.
