Nothing screams adventure more than an Indiana Jones birthday party. Select party games that adhere to the movie and its main character. The games break the ice for shy kids and keep the children entertained throughout the party. Award the winners of each game with Indiana Jones--themed prizes. - Purchase small plastic or metal rings at a local craft supply store. Party guests use these rings to toss over tiki statue heads, which are available online and at retail stores. The rings need to be large enough to fit over the statue heads. Give each child three rings to throw on the tiki statues. The child that rings the most heads is the winner.
- You need several fedora hats and small balls for this game. Divide the kids into teams of two, and give each child a hat. Each team gets a small ball. The object is to throw the ball to each other and catch it in a hat. However, the kids cannot use their hands to catch the ball; they must only use their hats. Have the children spread further apart after each round, so it gets harder to catch the ball. The team with the greatest distance between the two of them that still catches the ball wins the game.
- Purchase plastic skulls at a craft or party store. Before the party starts, hide several skulls in the backyard or inside your house. On "go," the children race to find as many skulls as they can. The child who finds the most skulls wins the game; each child who finds a skull takes it home as a party favor.
- Create an obstacle course in the backyard or a park for this adventure game. Use items such as hula hoops, balance beams, old tires and boxes. Get a stopwatch and time the children running through the course. Award the child that makes it through the course with the fastest time.
- Fill several small plastic swimming pools or one large pool with sand. Hide small plastic toys such as snakes, gold coins and spiders. On "go," the children run to the pools and try to find the toys. Give each player an Indiana Jones favor bag to collect his toys. The player who finds the most toys wins the game, and all other kids have a few party favors to take home.
