Dog Training With Shock Collars
I would like to touch on those crazy four legged friends of ours that just love leaving the yard to run down the motorists driving down our streets.
Will we ever understand why a dog would take on something so much larger than itself? Not to worry, one of the most efficient dog training tools is the shock collar.
Now I know that sounds a little mean or downright scary so let's refer to it as the "correction" collar.
There now, I don't know about you but I feel better.
Okay, let's get some facts out here.
Many of these products will give you a range of about 180' to 330' in diameter.
Now that's plenty of room for Fido to roam our yards.
So we really aren't confining our dogs to a small area.
And hey, by the way the "correction" made by the collar is supplied by a small battery in the collar.
It is just enough to get their attention.
I'll give you a comparison.
Have you ever put your tongue on a 9 volt battery to see if it's still good? Well, if you have you know what I'm talking about.
If you haven't let's just say you will know when you have a good battery! Now I must add you should research these products thoroughly.
Many of these products are for dogs over 15 pounds.
You can easily adjust the level of the "correction" these collars provide to suit your dogs behavior and size.
Now I know what some of you are thinking "That is just inhumane" or "That is not something I would put on my dog.
" Well folks the truth to the matter is that these systems will not hurt your pets when used properly.
And that through the process of teaching your dog to stay within the boundaries you have set for him he has the freedom to roam and not be tied to a rope or chain hooked to the bumper of Uncle Barney's '59 Ford, that by the way he was going to have towed out of here a couple years ago.
So what I'm trying to say here is these "correction" collar systems are a very useful tool in your dog training arsenal.
So if you are having problems getting through to your dog what his/her boundaries are, I would suggest trying these products.
I have had nothing but success with this technology.
Well, Fido just alerted me to the fact that Uncle Barney's just pulled up out front with a tow truck.
Wow, looks like that old '59 Ford will finally be towed away!
