University of Oklahoma is a co-educational public research university based out of Norman in Oklahoma State. It has made a name for itself as a research university, with high research activity.

The university accommodates an honors college; open to its students at discretion. Any student, who completes 18 credit hours (with respect to honors classes), can graduate with honors.
Going with the semester system of education, the university offers a variety of special learning facilities like distance learning, ROTC, teacher certification along with the weekend college concept.

Admission Tests and Student Facilities
Cumulative scores for ACT test based admission (25/75 %ile) are at 23 out of a possible 28, while the SAT cumulative scores in the same league are at 1060 / 1290. Oklahoma Norman Campus gets a 'thumbs up' in all the possible student services an institution can offer, from remedial services to academic career placement & counseling, the university has made excellent arrangements. On campus day care and PT cost-defraying employment are also available.
Athletics
The campus' sports teams are called 'Sooners' and they have an active participation in NCAA's Division I Bowl Subdivision. Sooners have won 18 team NCAA National Championships apart from seven football based national championships (NCAA doesn't award football championships).
