Being A West Bromwich Albion Fan This Season
This season has been a relatively productive one for us Baggies. Ever since Roy Hodgson's arrival at the club about twenty months ago we have gone from strength to strength because he has instilled a fighting spirit and organisation that was absent in the past. I am consequently full of hope for the future, despite our defeat away to Swansea last weekend. Brendan Rogers' men have been in fine form throughout their first season in the Premiership and there is no pride to be lost for having lost in Wales, despite the fact that they have just been promoted. Much of Swansea's attacking football this season has been of the quality of Arsenal or, dare one say it, Barcelona, and Rogers calls Allen €my Iniesta'.
West Brom have also been playing some delightful football throughout this campaign and Hodgson will be hoping his troops can continue their current scoring run against his old charges at Anfield next week. Visiting Liverpool is always a daunting challenge, although Kenny Dalglish's men have struggled to find the back of the net in recent weeks, but the game will be heaped with pressure due to the fact that Roy Hodgson will be returning to his old club for only the second time since John W Henry saw fit to fire him having just purchased the club in January of last year. I am going to be in attendance at Anfield next week and hope to find somewhere to stay near the stadium. When it comes to finding a comfortable but cheap hotel Liverpool centre can be a tricky area in which to do so, so I am going to make sure that I have a look at all of the available options on line today or tomorrow to avoid paying through the nose at the last minute.
After Roy Hodgson didn't sign anyone last summer I wasn't the only Baggies fan that was worried that we might struggle to avoid relegation this season. The fear was that we would not be able to score enough goals due to our meagre options with regards to strikers and so end up getting relegated and playing our football next season in the Championship resulting in me looking for cheap hotels in Derby rather than Liverpool, but thankfully Hodgson has been able to arrange a team in such a manner that our midfield provides defensive cover as well as weighing in with goals and attacking presence when necessary.
