How to Appeal a Visa Rejection
- 1). Contact the US Embassy near you to talk to a consular officer regarding your visa denial. You cannot appeal a visa rejection but you can provide additional information to have your rejection overturned.
- 2). Discuss with the consular officer why your visa was rejected. He will inform you what additional paperwork is required to overturn your rejection and issue your visa. If your visa application was rejected because you cannot prove you are not an "intending immigrant," there is no additional information you can provide to overturn the denial. You must reapply for a visa at a later date.
- 3). Provide the additional legal documents required to approve your visa if the reason for your rejection was lack of legal paperwork. The paperwork you must submit varies greatly and could be any number of items depending on your personal situation. Once the embassy receives the additional paperwork required and finds that it is acceptable, your denial will be turned into an approval and your visa will be issued.
