5 Green Fundraising Ideas for Your School

1
This article list 5 green fundraising ideas for your school.
If you're promoting a green environment, find out how to raise needed funds and yet, stay "green".
Most of these ideas are free to start, earn high profits, and can be used in addition to other products, and as an ongoing project.
1.
Recycle Fundraising Program
This is my favorite green fundraiser! Students collect used ink cartridges, cell phones, and small electronics to be recycled.
You will need to find a good company that accepts these items.
It is generally free to start and everything (including promotional materials, boxes, and postage), is usually provided.
Use this as an ongoing fundraising project for your school.
Have collection boxes in convenient places (school lobby, grocery stores, etc).
Ask businesses to save their used ink cartridges for your school.
A great idea is to add the recycle fundraiser on to a pre-sell product.
When students make the pre-sell, they can tell customers about the recycle fundraiser.
Tell them that they will pick up any items the customer would like to donate when returning with their order.
2.
Going Green School Store
- Set up a school store that only sells green products (such as recyclable paper, smencils, etc.
) or products that promote saving the environment (Re-usable shopping bags, tee shirts and hats promoting a green environment, etc.
) Have students suggest items to offer in your store.
3.
Collect Box Tops, Labels, Candy Bar Wrappers
- These won't make as much money as the recycle program above, but will add up.
It will also save these items going into your trash.
Search for companies that will pay cash or points for sending in their labels, wrappers, or box tops.
Breakfast cereals, soft drinks, candy bars, and soups sometimes have offers.
4.
Popcorn
- Popcorn is a healthy snack! Even better if you can recycle the micro-wave popcorn bag.
Usually, these offer sports themed bags and are free to start with pre-order brochures.
5.
Beef Snacks
- Another healthy snack idea.
Sell these at sports games or in the hall outside the lunch room.
This one is not free to start, as you will need to purchase before selling.
However, most companies will allow schools to use purchase orders or credit cards.
You will be able to sell before your payment is due.
If you're serious about your school going green, by all means, include one or two green fundraiser products this year.
It will teach students, and parents as well, about saving the environment.
In conclusion, the 5 Green Fundraising ideas for schools that I have suggested include: the recycle program, box tops and labels, going green school store, popcorn, and beef snacks.
I'm sure you can think of many more.
