Although the whole area named Burgess Hill does have a couple of hills included in it, there is no specific relationship between the said landforms and the town's name.
While boasting of its small-community spirit and the small town feel, Burgess Hills is still able to furnish its citizens as well as visiting tourists with all the basics of the modern world.

The closest source found about the town's name is from John Burgeys whose name was recorded in the tax rolls.
It is most common for first time visitors in town to think that the town's name is in reference to either the hill where the train station is presently situated or the Burgess Farm which lies on top of a hill on the southeastern part of the town.
Over the years, the population has continued to increase.
More so, housing estates were developed and commercial establishments were built.
Despite the modern developments, however, the small town feel was never gone.
Most of the notable landmarks are classical structures.

The Mid Sussex Brass Brand, which appears in local events as well as that of other locations, is also from Burgess Hill.
Getting to and from Burgess Hill is not a problem as well.
It is accessible via railway service or through regular bus rides.
