Rollator - When Choosing Freedom
Rollator - Could this work for me? Tired of relying on others to get you where you want to go?Want the freedom to go for a short walk to the corner store or just go into the kitchen to fix yourself a snack, without having to ask someone for help? Your freedom to choose what, where and when could be just a Rollator away! Many people require assistance to remain as independently mobile as they can.
No one wants to depend or wait on someone else to decide what they can do, where they can go and when they can do it.
There are many reasons why people need assistance getting around, whether it be because of a physical disability, a new or long-term injury, a handicap, or age, for any of these reasons a rollator may be just the thing you need to enjoy a more independent, happier and healthier lifestyle.
For the purpose of this article I will use the term "Rollator" to represent what others may call a rolling walker, walker with a seat, or wheeled walker (3 or 4 wheeled).
There are many other terms in use today but primarily the main attributes of a rollator are that they have wheels, brakes, a frame for you to hold on to, and of course more importantly, they can help you get where you want to go, on your own! The benefits of using a rollator:

Bariatric rollators (comes with 4 wheels) are made extra sturdy to carry and support heavier weights, typically up to a capacity of 500 - 600 lbs.
The seats are wider making it more comfortable for people requiring the extra room.
All other features and benefits mentioned above apply.

- many come with lightweight frames with folding capabilities
- many folding rollators are transportable without much effort
