Whats happen to good Tv?

3
I'd be the first to admit I enjoy watching Television but what's happened with it recently? Over the last few weeks I've been interested to know what the line up is on a daily basis just to prove myself right really that its going slightly down the pan.

When I turn the TV on its all reality programs and nothing funny or enjoyable to watch. I remember the 'olden' days when Saturday night was jam packed with good TV programmes including blind date, gladiators and even casualty was good to watch in a bizarre entertaining way. Now it all consists of xfactor which dominates all channels. Even ITV2 used to have good films on but now it's either FreeWilly or Happy Feet on every Saturday and the evening is repeats of Britain's got talent which finished months ago or the built up to the new 2012 xfactor.

People have tried to bring back the old TV programmes like gladiator and dating shows like take me out but I think many people just need good TV. I do enjoy take me out but after the itv program has finished it takes over itv2.

Why not put movie premiers on itv on a Saturday night every week as not everyone has Sky or cable for watching the movie channels. They should make Saturday night TV good as people are finding themselves staying in unable to afford to go out and buy expensive food and drink and just want to sit down and watch TV. Rather than spending money at blockbuster franchise, put good films on that families can sit down and watch together.

In the week soaps dominate the TV but I do enjoy a bit of emmerdale every night and I do get a sense of 'homely' feel when I watch soaps. I think as I've grown up with them I enjoy them and like most people feel like it's real life and can't believe some story lines and why certain characters get married! I'm sure I'm one of many who gets the sense of real life with these soaps.

So to round up my mini statement about TV, I think weekend TV needs to get better. Movies on itv2 need to be changed weekly and not repeat after repeat as its coming across as ground hog day. Make Saturday night movies a new occurrence so people are excited to grab the tv schedule and arrange a saturday night in. People have said the new going out is the new staying in.

It probably won't change but I'd just like to voice my opinion and I hope that one day it will be good again.
