Natural Cancer Supplements - Beware of So-Called Natural Cancer Supplements That Are Bad For You

15
Are all natural cancer supplements ideal for every kind of cancer? Is there anything to be aware of when researching which supplements to use and which ones not to use? Absolutely, NOT.
Not every supplement, natural or not, is going to be the perfect choice for every illness (which includes cancer).
It is crucial that you understand what aggravates your specific kind of cancer and how you feel.
What makes you feel excellent and what makes you feel terrible.
This might sound simple, but many people do not listen to their bodies.
Whether you have an illness like cancer or not, it is essential to LISTEN to your body.
Keeping a log is a very good idea so you can pin-point what is the triggers for feel good and not so good.
Many supplement companies like to claim (whether they have any real research stand on or not) that their supplements will cure the world.
However, this simply isn't true.
Supplements have an excellent purpose, and it is to supply our bodies with the needed nutrition that we haven't given them.
You may be wondering why our bodies may need a specific vitamin, mineral or antioxidant.
The key reasons that the vitamins, minerals, and/or antioxidants have been depleted in our bodies or that the cells have been damaged like in the case of cancer are as follows:
  1. Stress or another illnesses
  2. Prescription drug (or even over the counter medicine)
  3. Chemicals in our surroundings
  4. Lack of proper diet or exercise
  5. Excess weight
The important thing is that we supply our body with healthy choices, and it utilizes what we feed (in the form of food or supplements) it to repair and maintain itself.
However, let's use a cancer that is stimulated by excess estrogen or progesterone.
A cancer like this is going to be aggravated by supplements that can increase your estrogen levels.
It is crucial to verify with the company that the specific supplements that you are choosing to use are not shown to raise one's estrogen levels.
For instance, even though the studies are inconclusive, soy has been shown to raise a person's estrogen levels so soy should not be the first choice to improve this person's health because it MAY (not necessary will but may) aggravate this person's cancer.
Whey would probably be a better protein choice.
Yes, this is not a 101% guarantee but doing nothing is certainly not a 101% guarantee.
If you ask the company, "is there anything in ________ supplement that has been shown to raise a person's estrogen?", then you have an excellent idea of where to start supplementing.
You may be thinking, I'll just take it to my doctor.
This is a good thought if your doctor is open-minded which many are.
However, most of the time, doctors have many many years of medical training and very few semester of nutritional training.
In fact, their training is typically greater on the prescription drugs than on supplements.
No that's not bad because we need them to be highly educated in their specific field.
However, we need to keep in mind their nutritional knowledge.
The best choice is to use a complementary program where you combine the best of medicine and the best of supplements to optimize your health.
Just a note pertaining to safety: It is critical to make sure the supplement company is safe and effective (preferably time-tested) because if the supplement is created in an unhealthy manner, it can actually do more harm than good (even increase the risk of cancer in some cases).
If the chemicals that are used to derive the supplement are leached into the vitamin itself, harm can be caused.
Also, the whole food or liquid vitamins are best is a myth.
Just take a second to think about it: Why use the whole food if the whole food doesn't have the health benefits that you need? It just doesn't make sense.
Furthermore, not all vitamin and minerals are stable in a liquid form so it is impossible to have a liquid vitamin that gives you everything you need.
