What is the Cause of Male Pattern Baldness?

1
By the age of just 20, already 1 in 5 men have balding and by the age of 50 over half of all men have hair loss.
So why is it that men lose their hair and what can be done about it? In this article, I'll reveal the truth behind male pattern baldness to you.
It's All About The Follicles Every single hair of yours emerges from a follicle.
A follicle is like the "engine room" for manufacturing your hairs.
You have a gland that produces protective oil and a little arm-like structure called the dermal papillus.
This reaches into your bloodstream to grab the nutrients it needs.
The follicle can then manufacture your hair by adding a slice of keratin protein every day to the existing hair.
Your hair grows to several inches and then falls out to be replaced in a new cycle by a new hair.
DHT Your body produces testosterone in the testes.
This is normal and necessary for your body to survive.
But testosterone is not all that useful so your body often converts it into "androgens" first.
One of these is called DHT.
DHT is used around the body but unfortunately it attacks the hair follicles.
It does this in a way to cause them to become denutrified as you age.
So what happens is that the follicles get less and less nutrition that they need.
With every cycle of your hair growth, your hairs get thinner and thinner.
Eventually your follicles stop producing hair.
This all happens in a progressive fashion which gives the familiar "W" shaped pattern that most men lose their hair in.
With women, the process is slightly different so they just get thinner hair overall.
The good news is that you can stop this process and you can even reverse it for follicles that are just "dormant".
If they've only stopped producing hairs for about 4 years or less then they can be revived.
Drugs And Natural Methods There are drugs and also natural cures to stop hair loss and regrow the hair.
Both work in the same way in that they work on dispersing the DHT and/or improving circulation of the blood to the hair follicle.
But there are big differences.
Drugs are expensive and also have many side effects.
It does make you wonder why so many guys turn to drugs and other debilitating methods such as hair transplantation surgery.
