Gathering Required Items

• 1). Get documented proof of your address or residence by making a photocopy of your state issued ID; you may also use a utility bill, such as your water, gas, sewage or gas bill displaying your address. Remember that the address proof you provide must match the address on your application form.
  
  
• 2). Get two identical passport photos taken of yourself. The photos can be color or black-and-white.
  
  
• 3). Get a money order payable to Travisa Outsourcing, covering your visa fee; the fee includes both a consular fee and a processing fee. As of August 2010, the processing fee was US $13. The specific consular visa varies depending on your visa type. Go to the "Consular Fees" page and then click on your specific visa type to obtain the visa fee amount. You may also use a credit card if you plan to apply in person. However, Travisa Outsourcing warns that using a credit card could delay your application.
  
  
• 4). Get a prepaid self-addressed envelope if you plan to apply for your visa by mail. Travisa Outsourcing recommends that you include some form of tracking with your prepaid envelope. If you are applying for your visa in person, you do not need to meet this requirement.
  
  

Applying for your Visa

• 1). Visit the "Welcome to the India Visa Application" page on the Travisa Outsourcing homepage and choose whether you would like to apply by mail or in person.
  
  
• 2). Select information matching your background from the menu items and then select "Continue."
  
  
• 3). Read the overview information and then copy the Travisa Outsourcing address displayed under "Location."
  
  
• 4). Complete the visa application by clicking on the "India Visa Application" link, copying your Application ID and temporary password and then following the prompts.
  
  
• 5). Print and sign the completed application.
  
  
• 6). Read the overview information and then copy the Travisa Outsourcing address displayed under "Location." If you are applying in person, make sure you note the drop-off and pick-up hours.
  
  
• 7). Visit the specific Travisa Outsourcing address you copied on "Step 3" during drop-off hours if you are applying in person. Submit your application materials, including your valid passport, when you arrive and then return at your allocated time to pick up your visa.
  
  
• 8). If you are submitting your visa application by mail, your passport and visa (if approved) will be mailed back to you in the prepaid envelope you provided.
