You've probably heard about the ridiculous number of plastic water bottles that are getting dumped into landfills each and every year-- more than 22 billion of them, to be exact.
  If you drink bottled water and are trying to go green, you probably tell yourself that you'll make up for it by recycling the empties rather than throwing them away.
  That's a great idea in theory, but here's the problem: you probably consume most of your bottled water outside your home, where recycling depositories are few and far between.
  The result?  All too often, you sip on your H2O throughout the day and end up tossing the empty bottle into a garbage bin at the mall.
  You'll recycle the next one, right?  Wrong.
  It doesn't work like that.
  Be honest: when was the last time you recycled a plastic bottle when you were out and about?  Put an end to the wasteful bottled water habit once and for all: invest in a Brita water filtering pitcher, and pick up two or three reusable stainless steel water bottles while you're at it.
  You can get the water bottles on eBay for about ten bucks apiece; keep them filled up and in the fridge so they're convenient.
(Tip: Be sure the bottles you get are stainless steel and not aluminum.
  They jury's still out in the green community about the safety of ingesting things stored or cooked in aluminum containers.
) You'll save about a hundred bucks a year if your bottled water habit currently costs you three dollars a week.

"  We've all heard that old refrain-- probably more than once!  Well, making the simple switch from "disposable" to "reusable"  is what that credo is all about.
