How to Make Hurricane Lamp Centerpieces
- 1
Soak the floral foam wreath. Place the wreath in a sink filled with water; sit a bowl or other heavy object on top of the wreath to keep it submerged. Let it soak for about 30 minutes. - 2). Choose your greenery. It can be ferns or leaves off of the flowers you are using. Insert the greenery into the sides of the wreath, making sure to cover all of the wreath as you go. Lay some of the greenery on the top of the wreath. This will add greenery underneath the flowers.
- 3). Select the flowers for the centerpiece. Choose a color scheme and use various shades of that color or choose a certain type of flower such as roses. Place the flowers on the wreath over the greenery. Insert the stems into the foam, and cut to the desired length so the flowers sit flush to the wreath. Cover the wreath completely with the flowers. The fuller the foliage the better your hurricane lamp centerpiece will look.
- 4). Place the hurricane lamp in the center of the wreath. Put the candle inside the hurricane lamp. Light the candle.
