Does a Canon MP190 Printer Have a Scanner?
- The Canon MP190's scanner has a resolution of 600 pixels by 1200 pixels and is capable of processing black and white and color photographs and documents. The scanner's interpolated scanning resolution is 19,200 pixels by 19,200 pixels. Interpolation is a process where the scanner process a document or photograph at its maximum resolution and then adds pixels to the item via its MP Navigator EX or Easy-PhotoPrint EX specialized software packages. MP Navigator EX and Easy-PhotoPrint EX are bundled with the scanner.
- The printer's scanner is integrated on top of the device and you must manually lift the scanner's lid to insert documents or photographs. The Canon MP190 does not contain an Automatic Document Feeder nor does it have the ability to add on. The printer's scanner type is a Contact Image Sensor present under a glass component that contains no user-serviceable parts.
- The Canon MP190 is capable of copying and scanning items up to 8.5 inches by 11.7 inches. For larger items, you must scan one part of the item then scan the other part and join the copies together manually or via a graphic manipulation program on your computer. The Canon MP190 interfaces with a variety of graphic manipulation programs, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Publisher and similar programs.
- The printer is no longer available directly from Canon but is available from online computer/electronics outlets and certain computer/electronics stores. The Canon MP190 is also available from online auction websites.
