Summer has finally arrived in Sydney and during the summer months visitors can expect many wonderful highlights especially during the Christmas holidays through to 2013. For example south west of Sydney Buxton will be hosting a series of events and once again celebrate the Buxton Bush Christmas events such as Santa arriving on a steam train and the Buxton Bushrangers will board steam trains from Couridjah to Buxton creating mayhem and fun, although they come armed they are exceptionally friendly as their grievance is not with the locals and visitors but with the troopers. The bushrangers are after a silver coin or gold and will rob literally anyone. You can enjoy the Buxton Christmas carols as well as other live entertainment throughout the day.

For last minute Christmas shopping, there is a wide variety of fabulous market stalls, the bat mobile a highlight for children will be arriving and there is a host of entertainment for children such as rides, farm animals, tricycle rides, wild rides and vintage cars as well as great food and wine. For those visiting Australia during the summer season will find that there is a plethora of hotels Sydney close to all the major attractions as well as close to all the summer seasons stunning festivals. For those that enjoy wildlife and the outdoors there is a host of family attractions such as the Australian Reptile Park and Wildlife Sanctuary where you will be entertained with unique exhibits, spectacular wildlife shows, witness the deadly funnel web spider being milked and enjoy some of the largest reptile enclosures. Watch one of the largest saltwater crocodiles lunging for his food, meet the young kangaroo Ned and his best friend Emu, interact with the koalas and hand feed kangaroos, and you will get to see other animals only endemic to Australia. There are wonderful bush walks and a playground for the children. A gold medal winner when it comes to tourist attractions is the Featherdale Wildlife Park which houses unique Australian wildlife such as koalas and Tasmanian Devils, wallabies, emus and kangaroos and also a host of endangered species that are not found anywhere else.

Situated in the city center is Sydney aquarium which is a must visit at Darling Harbor which is one of the largest aquariums in the world and a popular attraction in Sydney which houses over twelve thousand aquatic animals in breathtaking habitat displays. Visit the rare and endangered dugongs and get a close up of the sharks, seahorses, stingrays and penguins. Besides these popular attractions there are a host of other such great mesmerizing attractions throughout Sydney.
