How to Tune a Toyota Corolla E10
- 1). Replace the stock carburetor with an upgraded unit capable of delivering more air and fuel into the engine. When the mixture is ignited, the resulting greater pressure will increase horsepower and torque across the rev range.
- 2). Install a high-flow exhaust system to increase engine efficiency. The use of less restrictive components reduces back-pressure and allows spent gases to exit more freely.
- 3). Add a set of lowering springs to improve stability and handling by reducing the center of gravity.
- 4). Upgrade the factory brakes with a performance brake package consisting of rotors and pads. This upgrade significantly improves stopping power by increasing frictional area and reducing brake fade that often occurs because of excessive heat buildup.
- 5). Replace the Corolla's wheels with a set of alloy rims and tires. These will not only add a unique style to your E10 but also will improve cornering speeds and reduce unsprung vehicle weight, meaning weight not carried by the suspension.
