1988 Ford F-350 Specs
- The F-350 is the largest of the Ford Motor Company's F-series of light-duty trucks. Ford produced the 1988 F-350 as part of its eighth generation of F-series pickups. In 1988, the F-350's engine, transmission and suspension were redesigned for better performance and easier maintenance. The body didn't see a significant change until 1999, when the truck joined Ford's "Super Duty" line of trucks.
- The 1988 Ford F-350's body is slightly more aerodynamic than those in previous generations, with rounded edges instead of sharp corners. The base-model truck is 210 inches long, 79 inches wide and 73.4 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 133 inches. The specialty trims are larger, with the Crew Cab vehicles reaching 245.7 inches long. The four-wheel drive models can also be as tall as 78.5 inches. The regular and Crew Cab trims require 235/85 tires instead of the regular 215/85 tires.
- The 1988 F-350 has a 5.8-liter, 210-horsepower V-8 engine in all trim levels except for the SuperCab, which comes with a 7.5-liter, 235-horsepower V-8 engine. The smaller engine produces 310 ft-lbs. of torque, while the larger engine produces 390 ft-lbs. of torque. A three-speed automatic transmission is standard in all the trim packages. The gas tank in the regular cab F-350s can hold 19 gallons, while all other styles have 37.2-gallon gas tanks.
- The 1988 Ford F-350 has six different available trim options. The standard trim option is the two-wheel-drive (2WD) regular cab. Other options include the four-wheel-drive (4WD) regular cab, the Crew Cab 2WD, SuperCab DRW 2WD, Crew Cab DRW 2WD and Crew Cab 4WD. SuperCab and Crew Cab trims are longer and can hold six people; the regular cab trims can accommodate just three people. The larger vehicles also have four doors, while the regular cab trims have two doors.
