How to Uninstall the Norton Recycle Bin
- 1). Restore any desired files in the Norton Protected Recycle Bin before you uninstall it. Right-click the Recycle Bin and click "Norton UnErase." Select the files you want to keep and click on "UnErase."
- 2). Right-click on the Norton Protected Recycle Bin icon again. Click on "Properties," then click on the "Global" tab. Click "Use One Setting for All Drives."
- 3). Click the "Recycle Bin" tab, then click "Standard Recycle Bin." In the text box, type "Recycle Bin."
- 4). Click the checkbox by "Show Norton Protection Status," then click the "Norton Protection" tab.
- 5). Click on a drive, such as your computer's hard drive or an external drive, then uncheck the "Enable Protection" option.
- 6). Click on "Empty Protected Files," then click either "Purge All" or "Purge Yours." Click on "OK" and restart your computer at the prompt.
