  Surprise your wife by arranging a romantic sunset picnic at your favorite outdoor spot--in a park, in the local public gardens, next to a lake or at the beach. You could even have a picnic in your own garden, if you have one. If you have small children, arrange a sitter for them for the evening. Prepare all your wife's favorite foods and drinks and put them in a picnic basket. Include a few sweet treats too, as well as a picnic blanket. Take warm jackets with you, as the weather can turn cool as the sun sets. If the weather does not play along, have the picnic in your living room.

  If you're not much of a cook, arrange for a caterer to bring a meal to your home or collect a home-made meal from your local deli. Make a special emphasis for setting the table for two. Put a rose or her favorite flower in a small vase on the table. Light some candles to keep the lighting low. Have a bottle of her favorite wine or beverage chilled in the refrigerator.

  Capturing the way you or your children view your wife provides a gift idea. If you've expressed your love of her in the form of a romantic note, a poem or a drawing of her, frame it and present it to her as a gift.
  
  If you have small children, let them contribute. On a horizontal piece of paper, have them to draw a picture or write a poem or a few lines about what they love about their mom. Laminate these pages so they can be used as place mats for the dinner table.
